ACCEPT PLURALISM, Tolerance, Pluralism and Social Cohesion.
Responding to the Challenges of the 21st Century in Europe
Third Project Meeting,
Istanbul Bilgi University, Istanbul, Turkey, 29-31 May, 2011
The third meeting of the ACCEPT PLURALISM project was held on 29-31 May 2011, at Istanbul Bilgi University in Istanbul, Turkey.
All the 17 participant teams of the project were present, as well as Terry Martin, a freelance journalist, who is a member of the project’s Advisory Board.
The agenda of the meeting and the discussion produced focused on two main issues:
i) the detailed discussion of the Case Studies on discourses and practices of tolerance (or intolerance) towards ethnic and religious diversity in school life.
ii) the planning ahead of comparative analysis and dissemination activities of the project, as well as of the next set of case studies that concern discourses and practices of (in)tolerance towards diversity in political life.
The meeting also included a focused discussion on how to develop policy briefs from the research findings and most importantly how to disseminate these policy briefs among non-academic users. This discussion was led by Terry Martin, from ACCEPT PLURALISM’s advisory board.
